BREAKING NEWS!

Microsoft released patches today to plug at least 55 security vulnerabilities in its Windows operating system and other software. It was reported that three critical patches are for bug that is considered critical, which means that they can be exploited remotely to compromise their systems.

However, most of the flaws are related to Internet Explorer, the default browser for Windows. If you rely on IE for browsing, plugging this vulnerability is of high priority. The other patches fix bugs in Windows operating system and Microsoft Office.

Some of the critical patches are to fix vulnerability in Microsoft Group Policy. Herein lays the threat. For those enterprises relying on Active Directory, the default authentication mechanism on corporate Windows networks, the patch is a must. This vulnerability can be exploited by malicious attackers to gain administrator-level privileges on targeted machines or device. Imagine this – millions of PCs and other devices can be exploited, if the patch is not in place.

Users who have applied these updates may cause them to have multiple restarts of Windows. Patches are available in Windows Update, which is built into all recent and supported versions of Windows.
